This is my opinion: I think that most cars will run off batteries which you will charge at home. The batteries will be used for local journeys, say to and from the shops. When you get on the motorway the car will run from electricity buried in cables in the road (a bit like an electric train) so that when you leave the motorway your battery will be fully charged.
Yes, I think that in the future we will see a lot more electric cars. As battery technology gets better and we understand the technology better it will become more main stream. These cars still need ‘fuel’ in the sense that they have to be charged, but you won’t need to add liquid fuel such as petrol etc.
