I have not worked with animals with respect to science. I volunteered in an animal orphanage in Nairobi in Kenya in 2005 and worked with baby chimpanzees that had been rescued (they were found in the airport in a shipping container on their way to Egypt where they would have been eaten!!). They were kept in quarantine for 2 weeks and we had to feed and play with them during the day, it was amazing as they were only a few months old and needed a lot of attention.
I also helped relocated some white rhino from a private reserve to Mombasa and Tanzania as part of a breeding project. We worked with Vets and the Kenyan army and wildlife service to track dart and load 8 baby (2 tonnes) rhinos into trucks.
