  Solar fuels can be divided into two kinds, one is hydrogen from water splitting, and the other one is carbon-containing fuels from water and CO2. These solar fuels are the examples that solar energy is stored in the chemical bonding. When these fuels are used, the chemical bonding is broken, and energy is released.
  As a simple example, hydrogen car, hydrogen and oxygen are used as the fuel, releasing water molecules and energy.
