  Well the most sustainable form of transport has to be cycling, so we should be doing more to encourage people to cycle-commute now. In the near future more and more cars will run off hydrogen (either through combustion or in fuel cells) or they will run off batteries. We will need electricity to either to charge the batteries or to make hydrogen. So as long as the electricity is produced sustainably then running the cars will become more sustainable.
