• Question: Do wind turbines turn round with only wind or is there some kind of motor in the neck of the turbine??

        The blades of wind turbines spin around by the movement of the wind. Some have gear boxes in them to control the speed that the blades turn. Some of them must have some kind of motor to turn the blades out of the wind when the turbine is broken or is under repair but this probably has no effect on the rotation of the blades.
