  In secondary school my friend turned on the gas before i lit the match and when it caught light I lost a lot of my eyebrows. the smell of burning hair is the worst! I set fire to some posters at the back of the chemistry lab by accident, this set off the fire alarms and the building had to be evacuated 🙁

  I don’t think I ever burned myself on a Bunsen but we use high temperature ovens and hot plates a lot. Over the years I’ve developed Kevlar skin on my fingertips from picking up very hot things! I think most of my colleagues are the same.
