It is good to be a scientist, as you can have a job, in which you are very interested. Of course, my life is changed as it become more frequently that some puzzles in my research will reproduce in my dream .

I love my job. I get to travel the world and I can sort of do whatever I feel like (within reason!). It has changed my life in that I have never been happy in a job before and I have almost complete freedom to investigate whatever I find interesting. As long as the outcome could have potential benefits for my University.

Definitely, science has become a central part of my life and has kept me interested in learning and understanding new things that i may have ignored if i was in a more mundane job. Doing a PhD means you can go all over the world talking to other scientist about your work and hear what leaders in the field have been doing, to include nobel prize winners. You get to speak with other people who are passionate about science which is always lovely.

Research is hard, it requires long hours and a lot of dedication. It is very competitive and there tend to be a lot more boys than girls (particularly in chemistry, physics and engineering) as you can see from many of the panels of scientists. I am working to help promote women in science, what do you think are the barriers preventing you from wanting to be a scientist?
