Hmmm, this is a tough question!!

I am from the UK and so that is home for me and my family lives there. We also have lots of great science companies to work for all over the UK to work for!

However, being in the USA is really good fun, Texas has great weather (always sunny and normal over 30C temp!) and I have a swimming pool that I can use almost all year! It is also great to travel around and see all the different areas of the USA, from deserts to mountains and snow fields up in Alaska! There are also lots of opportunities for work here also.

One of the best things about working in science is that you get many opportunities to travel. Even when I was in the UK as a student and working for Shell I got to travel all the time… I went to… France, Germany, Holland, California, Las Vegas, Florida, New Zealand, Turkey and more (all for free and all in the space of 5 years!). Now I am living in USA I still get to travel a lot for work, in fact I am going to Ohio next week to meet with the US airforce!

Science is an international field and so you have to travel a lot for conferences to show off your work and to meet other people who are interested in what you do so that you can learn from others.

So the best thing about working in Science is that I get to change where I work all the time! I’ll come back to UK for a while and then go off somewhere else for a bit 🙂

Do you like to travel? Where would you most like to work?
